Read & Brew: CHMSUans enjoy free coffee, snacks amid midterms

The Library and Information Services across all campuses provided free coffee and snacks to students, faculty, and staff amid the ongoing midterm examinations from April 2 to 3, 2025. The free and warm pick-me-up is part of the unit’s campaign to boost the morale of students working hard to ace their exams. Goodluck CHMSUans!


BSED Math student clinches awards at MTAP-IC confab

A fourth-year Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Mathematics student won two awards in the recent Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines – Iloilo Chapter (MTAP-IC) Seminar, Workshop, and Convention at the Philippine Science High School – Western Visayas Campus in Iloilo City. Quality Management director now AUN-QA assessor

The ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) recently enlisted Director for Quality Management Yrika Marie Dusaran as among the newest recruit AUN-QA assessors for future programme assessments.

This is following her participation together with Cindy Cañon, Deputy Quality Management Representative for Binalbagan Campus, in the 18th Assessor Training Workshop for AUN-QA Programme Assessment at the De La Salle University Manila on March 20-26, 2025.

Carlos Hilado Memorial State University expands its internationalization horizons as new connections and partnerships arose from the recent participation of President Norberto Mangulabnan in the Global Education Conclave 2025 in Jhanjeri, Mohali in India, March 29-31, 2025.

Themed “Leading with Purpose: Global Collaborations for a Sustainable, Inclusive, and Technologically Advanced Future,” the conference aimed to unite institutions and thought leaders from across the globe to discuss strategies for impactful collaborations in research, innovation, and sustainable development.


CHED awards CHMSU for consistent standards, quality teacher education programs

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) for upholding the highest standards in ensuring the quality of its pre-service teacher education programs.

CHMSU is among the awardees in CHED’s Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Awards on April 2, 2025 at the Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila.

Receiving the recognition are President Norberto Mangulabnan, Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay Estrellas, Assistant VPAA Ma. Riza Manalo, College of Education Dean Ophelia Duayan, and University Secretary Mary Leanne Laganhon.


CCS undergoes extension proposal writing workshop

Fortune Towne Campus students, employees take part in fire, earthquake drill

Students and employees at the Fortune Towne Campus underwent a mandatory fire and earthquake drill on March 28, 2025, led by the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The activity is in observance of the Fire Prevention Month.

The drill included a lecture, demonstration, and simulation in collaboration with the Barangay Estefania local government unit, the Bacolod City DRRM Office, and the Red Cross Youth CHMSU Fortune Towne Chapter.


CHMSU places measures to mitigate effects of rising heat index

Carlos Hilado Memorial State University is rolling out new measures to help counter the effects of rising temperatures and create a more comfortable campus environment.

These initiatives are now in place across CHMSU’s four campuses—Alijis, Binalbagan, Fortune Towne, and Talisay—following Memorandum Order 26, series of 2025, issued by University President Norberto Mangulabnan on March 25, 2025.
